Unit 7 Stop Frame Animation - Evalation

I have really enjoyed learning all about stop frame animation through unit 7. It's something I knew a bit about but I'd never made my own stop frame or looked at different kinds. I've always loved animation especially things like Disney films so it was really good to see a way you can make images taken with a camera become animated.
Through the unit we made a flip book, 3 stop frames in groups/pairs and then our own individual stop frame ( you can watch a video of that one in my previous post.). My favourite out of all of these would probably be some of the ones we made in groups. We made one using plasticine creating little characters and a storyboard as a team. I think all of our stop frames together worked really well. The images all flowed together beautifully and told a story. I was really proud of what we had achieved. I also really liked the first workshop of making a flip book as its something I would do in the corner of notebooks as a child but I hadn't ever made a full one. ( there's a short video of the flip book on my blog as well.)Since I can't get the videos other than individual one and flip book here are some screen shots of making them on Windows movie maker as well as screenshots from my final video and my flip book. ( for evidence)

My favourite artists we looked at would have to be Tim Burton as I'd always admired his work and I love his films especially 'The nightmare before Christmas' and 'Edward Scissorhands'.
Tim Burton and some of his famous characters.
Overall this unit was really interesting and different to what I'd ever done before. I really enjoyed learning a new craft and see my plasticine...drawings..pictures etc. come to life via stop frame animation.

Have a nice day !
Jess :) xx
